I thought of you and made an effort to do it properly, toasted the pine nuts, and made it in our (rather small) pestle and mortar instead of the blender. It was a bit stringy and grainy but none the worse for that.

I don't know trofie. An Egyptian friend years ago introduced me to the tiny ellipsoid grains of pasta, sometimes called larks' tongues, I think. I can eat them with nothing more that a few greens, and, in a rather crass bit of fusion cookery, oyster sauce!Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09764296105901909328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13609842.post-14293794998030981032010-10-22T19:15:17.105+01:002010-10-22T19:15:17.105+01:00A very appetising description!A very appetising description!Lucashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07642126053527835870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13609842.post-27317834641186626732010-10-21T18:35:08.466+01:002010-10-21T18:35:08.466+01:00Perhaps it is a good thing I live as far away from...Perhaps it is a good thing I live as far away from you and Heidi as I do, for your supper would tempt me to rudely invite myself over for a bite of it - yum!The Crowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04846997590157958766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13609842.post-61596093134127917822010-10-21T17:16:55.038+01:002010-10-21T17:16:55.038+01:00We get through a lot of basil plants, bought at Te...We get through a lot of basil plants, bought at Tesco, placed on the kitchen window-bottom (a Yorkshireism I can't - in fact don't want to - rid myself of), ignored perhaps for ten minuttes, found to be dead. Their great attraction is their exqusite sensitivity - the tiniest brush against a leaf releases such powerful scent. It occurs to me it would be easy to overdo basil in a recipe.Roderick Robinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16828395545197001637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13609842.post-81759264000847634832010-10-21T17:09:37.185+01:002010-10-21T17:09:37.185+01:00Sweet dog photo.Sweet dog photo.CChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12653106775702366387noreply@blogger.com
