agapanthus 5, tourists, gathering

Posted by Picasa The story of the well fed agapanthus - a happy ending.

A collection of tourists round the iron railing above the Chalybeate spring in the Pantiles - the raison d'etre of Tunbridge Wells - sip the unsavoury, brown water, which people used to think was good for them because of the iron content. They hold the water up to the light, swirl it around and look as though they are parodying professional wine-tasters at work.

Singing in the rain is all very well, but gathering vegetables amd cutting flowers, this morning, in the soft, summer rain is even better.

The analogy would be complete if all now spat their mouthfuls into a spittoon
