brick, print, overhead cable

There is an old wall opposite our house. This is the surface of just one brick on that wall.

Pressed into the pavement is a white magnolia petal. It bears the striated imprint of the sole of a shoe.

Drops of rain glide along the telephone wire outside our bedroom window at regular intervals like cars on an overhead cable way.

This brick's surface has a quality of painting and the painter someone who is persuing some kind of essence in things. The poem that accompanies a previous post also explores this theme - the many layered reality or realities.
I also like the movement in the description of the striated petal and the cable way of drops of rain.
